Giannone & Cia Ltda, Italian family firm, founded in 1927 by Gaetano Giannone in the city of Messina in Sicily, with the basic activity of the extraction of essential oils and production of crystallized fruit. The difficulties caused by the Economic Crisis at the height of the Fascista scheme motivated the family to immigrate to Brazil in 1929, establishing in Sorocaba - Sao Paulo, one of the pioneers in the production of these products in Brazil under the brand SICOLA.
In 1998 one of the family members, Caetano Eduardo Giannone, expanded the company by creating a division of aromas under the name G. Giannone & Cia Ltda, producing aromas for all the segments of the food market, remaining in the same industrial site until 2006.
In 2007 a new G. Giannone factory opens up also in the city of Sorocaba, 78 km away from the city of Sao Paulo, with easy access through President Castelo Branco and Senator Antonio Ermírio de Moraes highways, known as "Castelinho”. The headquarters is located at Avenida Fernando Stecca, 1200.
